Imbolc is in the honour of women. The word is for the feast day of the Celtic goddess Brigid who reigns over fertility, healing, and poetry.

Imbolc will discuss the mental and physical toll of feminine health that comes with the everyday ailments, diseases, and the medication needed to survive it all.

As a woman diagnosed with endometriosis, I have had to deal with the energy it takes out of my already diagnosed anxiety and depression, while birth control continues its side effects of anxiety and pain medication adds to depression and early menopause.

The namesake for this column is a festival to bring us from the darkness of winter and into spring — rebirth. Through poetry and healing, we are reborn, but it doesn’t come without physical and mental hurdles.

Stay tuned!
